Aligned with the BSMI Constitution, the establishment and development of Committees aims to extend the network and the activities of the institute through a diverse range of social and scientific activities, projects, and programmes.
BSMI Committees can be permanent to carry an ongoing task, or temporary, to develop a specific project. For example, the exhibition “BANFF 1824” to commemorate the bicentenary of the visit of General San Martín to Scotland.
Often BSMI Committees will find themselves joining forces to develop common activities.
The creation of new BSMI Committees must be approved BSMI Board of Trustees once the following conditions are met:
– Have at least three (3) members including a Coordinator and a Sub-Coordinator.
– Present a list of activities to develop. An annual report must be submitted annually.
